The discussion forum is now open. It's very minimal, but should be a decent enough place for anyone to get some questions answered.

Another good option is Red Hat's Alpha mailing list. All the developers hang out there, and many other good people too. It's worth joining up.

QUAKE 1... I was wondering has anyone released an alpha port for any alpha running something later than RH6.0? I've downloaded several versions [precompiled/source] but NONE of them work correctly... Most sources compile with nothing but warning about i386 op codes [quakesrc/proquake/etc.].

Quakeforge: Compiles, but quake fails to run as a server

Xquake: binary fails to run period

Squake: same as Xquake

I was running the following:
Redhat 7.2
Kernel-2.6.11.6
GLIB-2.3.2
GCC-4.0.1/Compaq C 6.5.9
Binutils-2.19.0.3 20050510
Gnome-2.8.2
GTK-2.6.x
etc.
